AI Employees by Tech Local

What is an AI employee?

An AI employee is AI software given a defined role in your business: a job description, approved tools, working instructions and a person to report to. It helps that person get through their work. Tech Local supplies the onboarding and support that help the role become useful in practice.

Start with the person who needs a hand

Think of the office manager who spends each morning sorting enquiries, the estimator who has site notes waiting to become quotes, or the property manager answering the same status questions. Each already understands the business. An AI employee can help prepare the information and drafts they need, so their attention goes to decisions and exceptions.

A useful first role supports one named employee. That person provides context, checks work and explains what good looks like. Giving the AI a manager also gives colleagues a clear place to raise questions.

Give it a real job description

“Help with admin” is too open-ended to manage. A more useful instruction is: organise new enquiries, identify missing details, prepare replies from approved templates and put unanswered items on a follow-up list. The role should describe the inputs, the expected output and when that output is needed.

It should also say what requires a person’s decision. A draft quote can be ready for the estimator while the final price and customer promise remain with the estimator. Those boundaries are part of the job, not something the team has to guess.

Connect the tools the job actually needs

Depending on the role and the selected product, the AI may work with approved email, calendars, documents or other business tools. It does not automatically need a new email address or access to everything in the company. Start with what the role needs.

Before connecting accounts, agree what information can be used, which actions are allowed and who can approve an exception. Provider capabilities and data handling differ, so the specific arrangement needs to fit your business rather than a generic promise.

Know who is accountable

“Employee” is a familiar way to describe the role. Your commercial agreement is with Tech Local. We agree the scope before payment, come to your East London office for the onboarding sessions and remain your contact when the role needs attention.

AI can make mistakes. Clear acceptance checks, approval boundaries and a correction process make those mistakes easier to spot and address. A higher package adds working capacity; it does not remove the need for a named supervisor.

Choose one useful starting point

Bring one recurring task to the first conversation. Show us what arrives, what your colleague does with it and the finished result you want. We can then assess the tools, workload and package together. A clear first role makes it easier to judge whether the AI employee is earning its place on your team.
