AI Employees by Tech Local
AI help for trades: enquiries, quotes and follow-ups
An AI employee can help the office side of a trades business keep moving while the owner and field team are busy. Start with enquiry organisation, quote drafts and follow-up lists. Your named owner or estimator keeps control of prices, job scope, booking promises and technical decisions.
Find the paperwork waiting behind the job
You may already have the site notes and know what the job involves. The delay comes in turning those notes into a quote, checking which details are missing and following up once it has been sent. That is a useful place to consider a defined AI role.
Start with one repeatable type of enquiry or quote preparation. The employee needs approved information to work from, such as your rate card, template and site notes. It should highlight missing measurements or access details rather than inventing them.
A sample quote preparation role
Imagine an estimator finishing a site visit and handing over approved notes. The AI employee prepares a quote draft in the business’s template, flags gaps and records the next follow-up. The estimator reviews it before any customer commitment is made.
- Organise permitted customer enquiries and identify missing details.
- Draft quotes using the current approved rate card and template.
- Keep a list of quotes awaiting review or a customer response.
- Prepare follow-up messages and booking suggestions for approval.
Leave prices and promises with the estimator
The role should state who approves final prices, discounts, scope and dates. A quote draft is useful preparation; it does not establish that a job is correctly specified or that the team is free on a proposed day.
Technical assessment, safety decisions and work on site stay with qualified people. If an enquiry is unclear or outside the approved rate card, the employee should raise it with the estimator. Agree those exceptions before onboarding.
Work with the tools your office uses
Show us where enquiries arrive and where quotes and job records are kept. We assess which tools the selected AI product can use and what authorised access the role needs. A separate email account is not automatically required.
The named supervisor makes time for five scheduled onboarding sessions, one on each of five weekdays. We agree their length and timing around the business before payment. Bring representative work so we can check the drafts together.
Judge the first month by useful work
Agree what a usable draft contains, how missing information is flagged and how the follow-up list stays current. Those give you a practical way to review the role without relying on a promised productivity multiplier.
Tech Local agrees the workload and fixed monthly price before payment, then provides ongoing support, training and a monthly review. Any change affecting the price needs your agreement first. Start the conversation with one task you would like off your desk.
