Daybud privacy.
This notice covers Daybud’s iPhone and Apple Watch app. You choose whether your family log stays local or is shared through Apple’s iCloud.
What your log contains
Daybud stores the child names you enter, your activity and attribute choices, recorded times, optional notes and amounts, and caregiver display labels. Reminders and preferences are personal to each caregiver. The Watch keeps a local recent copy and pending actions until the paired iPhone confirms they are saved.
Local storage and optional iCloud
Your device stores the log using Apple Core Data and device file protection. Local logging works without iCloud. When you enable iCloud, the family’s records are copied to Apple’s private or shared CloudKit storage. Care content uses CloudKit-supported encrypted fields. Apple’s service, storage and backup settings also apply.
Daybud has no custom app backend. Normal log synchronization does not send your care records to Tech Local’s servers. Information you choose to export or send in a support email follows the destination you select.
Who can see and change a shared family
Invited caregivers have administrator and read/write access: they can see, log, edit and delete shared care data, and administer participants. Apple retains one storage owner and its whole-share lifecycle. The owner’s available iCloud space supports the family. Choose the people you invite with that access in mind.
Updates are delivered by Apple and may arrive at different times on different devices. A record saved on one phone does not prove another caregiver has read it.
On-device insights and Apple system services
Daybud calculates timing windows and totals from the selected child’s recorded history. Its optional in-app conversation uses Apple Foundation Models on the iPhone. Daybud does not send those prompts to an external AI provider or use a cloud AI fallback. Core logging and factual insights remain usable when Apple Intelligence is unavailable.
Using Siri, Shortcuts or system dictation invokes Apple system services. Apple may process spoken requests and the content needed to complete them according to your settings and Apple’s terms. That system behavior is separate from Daybud’s on-device conversation.
Estimates describe recorded routines and uncertainty. They do not provide age-based or clinical advice, recommend intake quantities, or make care decisions automatically. Reminders are scheduled only when a caregiver requests them.
Ads, tracking and support
The Daybud app has no advertising, tracking or analytics SDK, and no external AI service. This public Tech Local website and emails you send to support are covered by Tech Local’s separate website privacy notice.
For support and privacy questions, contact info@techlocal.co.za. Include a description and relevant error or version information. Avoid sending child names, care history, exports, Apple passwords or verification codes.
Your controls and copies
You can correct or delete care entries, archive activity dots while preserving history, and export a child’s CSV or a structured family file. Small deletion and retry records may remain to prevent duplicated actions or deleted items returning to the active log.
Before leaving a family, you can keep a personal local copy. Removing access changes future sharing when Apple applies it; exports, backups and copies already downloaded by another caregiver may remain. Daybud cannot remotely erase those copies. Local recovery copies can also remain on a device. Manage Apple account backups and storage through Apple’s settings.
